- Week 9 Reflection -

To create an engaging and successful new media ad, a few aspects need to be considered. First, it is very important to determine the goal and main purpose of the ad, whether to create awareness, to promote something or to transmit information. A good ad must be goal-oriented. Secondly, keeping the ad short and simple is also very important. Avoid using jargons or flowery language because audiences might not be interested in reading long and complicated materials that are hard to understand. A short, simple and direct copywriting style is needed for creating headlines for engaging ads. Next, the visual of the ad need to be attractive so that it is noticeable among the multi-elements webpage. The visual aspects are also important to make audiences feel that there are something worth reading or seeing after the click on you ad. The benefit of clicking the link or ads need to be shown so that audiences will think that they are about to get something after clicking into your ad’s link. At the same time, an excellent new media ad need to call for action among its audiences. The ad should encourage audiences to action, depending on the goal of the ad, whether to get free sample from outlets, to try new product, to call for more information, to browse through the official webpage and others.
